Since 1924, we have been saving lives in your community by working with schools, hospitals, community centers and other local stakeholders. We have set a 2020 Impact Goal of improving the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20 percent while reducing deaths from heart disease and stroke by 20 percent. Our research and educational programs are critical to helping people live stronger, longer lives and build healthier communities all over the globe.
Why Support the Heart Ball? Our Local Impact
- Nearly 40,000 High school graduates are trained in CPR annually
- More than 320,000 kids are eating healthy school meals as a result of our collaboration
- with CCSD; and school meals are impacted by updated meal standards that are advocated by the American Heart Association
- About 35,000 elementary students participate in Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart, bringing them the physical activity they need to build a heart-healthy lifestyle
- We have installed Teaching Gardens in five Title 1 Elementary Schools
Heart Ball Campaign celebrates our life-saving work and will continue to be a major driving force behind eradicating heart disease and stroke. Our annual Heart Ball gala is hosted at the Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas in mid-April. The event includes a silent and live auction, a cocktail reception, and a three-course gourmet meal. While you enjoy an evening of fine dining and entertainment, you will also learn more about the American Heart Association’s mission and have the opportunity to hear the story of a local survivor. We love to know and honor the survivors right here in our own community, and to help further their reach as they live the realities of heart disease or stroke. Each year has a different theme that stretches from the invitations, to the ballroom décor, to the attire of our guests! Past themes have included The Great Gatsby, Mardi Gras, and French Cabaret.
